$1.1 Million Economic Grant Announcement Thursday
MAYFLOWER, AR – Mayflower Mayor Randy Holland, along with Governor Beebe and other dignitaries, announced the details of an Economic Development Administration Grant for Mayflower.
$1.1 million in Economic Adjustment funds will fund construction of critical water and sewer infrastructure along Interstate Drive in Mayflower. The area of Interstate Drive that will benefit from this development is the same area that was affected by the Exxon oil spill and the April tornado.
“This project is the missing piece needed to open up new opportunities for business development.” said Mayor Holland. “Economic growth is very important to Mayflower right now as we finish recovering from the April tornado. With the expansion of Interstate 40, and a new overpass in the works, Faulkner County is one of the fastest growing counties and Mayflower is right in the middle of it.”
Mayor Holland conducted a site tour of Interstate Drive after the presentation.
