MAYFLOWER PLANNING COMMISSION
MAY 11, 2021
Chairman Jana Green-Fornash called the meeting to order at 7:01 PM. Angela Patterson called roll. Commissioners in attendance for the meeting were Jana Green-Fornash, James Oliver, Angela Patterson, Chad Patterson, Sammy Reynolds, and Cliff Wekkin. Delbert Dawson, Curtis Lovell, and Ken Tugwell were absent. We have a quorum.
Approval and/or Changes to Minutes: Commissioner C Patterson made the motion to accept the minutes as printed from the April 13, 2021 regular meeting, and Commissioner Oliver seconded the motion. The motion passed with all ayes.
General: Commissioner Reynolds suggested a workshop on the land around the new overpass. Commissioner A Patterson will contact Metroplan for a timetable of presentation of their work on Mayflower’s revised zoning districts, then contact commissioners with a date to meet.
New Business: none
Unfinished Business/Public Comments: JM Crites had questions about building on a lot, located on the southeast corner of the property, in Phase 6 of the River Plantation and submitted a letter at the meeting from Kyle Martin, CWB Engineers, concerning an unnamed lot, stating that they did not design an additional retention pond for stormwater drainage runoff.
“The existing pond at the south east corner of the property along with the proposed detention structure/spillway (east of the existing pond) is for detention purposes on the River Plantation Phase 6 property.”
For reference, Michael Clayton had already provided Certification of Preliminary Surveying Accuracy by surveyor Eric Holloway for the April 2021 commission meeting. Mr. Crites was then advised that the lot must be replatted and a 911 address obtained from the Faulkner County Office of Emergency Management/911 before any construction would be permitted.
Announcements: Commissioner A Patterson stated that ARDOT will send out invitations to the commissioners for the overpass groundbreaking ceremony to be held May 25th at 11 AM, and that online training is available for interested commissioners through the American Planning Association.
Chairman Jana Green-Fornash asked for a motion to adjourn the meeting. C Patterson made the motion; Commissioner Wekkin seconded the motion. The motion passed with all ayes. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:35 PM.
