REGULAR MEETING
OCTOBER 12, 2021

Vice-Chairman C Patterson called the meeting to order at 7:02 PM. Angela Patterson called roll. Commissioners in attendance for the meeting were Danny Hester, James Oliver, Angela Patterson, Chad Patterson, and Stephen Smedley. Delbert Dawson, Jana Green-Fornash, Sammy Reynolds, and Cliff Wekkin were absent. We have a quorum.

Approval and/or Changes to Minutes: Commissioner Hester made the motion to accept the minutes as printed from the September 14, 2021 meeting, and Commissioner Oliver seconded the motion. The motion passed with all ayes.

General: None

Reports: None

Unfinished Business: None

New Business: River Plantation Phase 3: Replat for Lots 4-5 An application to combine lots 4 and 5, previously platted in 2003, was submitted for approval by Holloway Engineering. When no opposition was voiced, Vice-Chairman C Patterson asked for a motion to approve the replat. Commissioner Oliver made the motion to approve the replat of lots 4 and 5; Commissioner Smedley seconded the motion. The motion passed with all ayes.

Public Comments: Madison Giles, Plantation Drive resident, updated the Commission about her safety concerns with proposed Phase 9, provided a copy of a neighborhood petition, and requested a response about why the City of Mayflower doesn’t require sidewalks in the River Plantation Subdivision. City Attorney Dustin Chapman provided a legal opinion by email, to be included with the minutes, and was read aloud in the meeting for all to hear. In short, Mayflower cannot require developers to add sidewalks in existing subdivisions.

Commissioner Hester made the motion; Commissioner Oliver seconded the motion. The motion passed with all ayes. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:15 PM.
